funeral home markers

It was a beautiful day yesterday, but I have so many chores around the house I had to take a day off from cemeteries. So here’s a shot from Warden Cemetery, my current transcription project. I often see these metal funeral home markers stuck in the ground next to a gravestone, which is nice, because sometimes they have info not included on the stone itself. In some cases it’s the only evidence of a grave. This was the first time I’ve seen the markers used as the “official” gravestone. There were a number of simple blocks of concrete like this with the metal marker securely embedded. When I get to these I’ll have to see if the markers are related in some way.
