Someone gave me this cute little tin; it’s a little bigger than a matchbox. I found it’s the perfect size to hold small magazine clippings of graphics, photos or words that I can use as journal prompts. It fits nicely in the top drawer of my bedside table alongside a glue stick and a bunch of pens and pencils.

I was going through a computer magazine one last time before recycling it and realized many of the phrases used in ads contained useful admonishments that could be used as prompts for a journal or your everyday life. Some examples are “Start”, “Choose”, “Review”,”Act Today”, “Reclaim your space”, and “Break Free”. Instead of rushing out to purchase something I apply the phrases to the non-materials of life. It’s making me see printed ads in a whole new light.
